Okay let me just start off by saying that going to the beach with a three year old and a baby is a basically a total sh!tshow, for lack of better words. Alone mind you? Nooope! I am just not on that Mom level yet. BUT after several beach trips this summer, and a lot of trial and error, I feel like I’m starting to figure things out a bit.
So, I thought I’d put together a quick list of 5 beach essentials that have been making my life a little easier. This by NO means is a complete list because if you have even just one kid then you already know that you basically have to pack for a week’s vacation for any outing with a baby or toddler.
L.L.Bean Beach Tent: One year, I tried to cheap out and buy one of those pop up beach tents which are impossible to fold back up into the stupid little circle that you can never get them back into ever again. Then I tried a $20 beach tent from Wal-Mart that takes two people, 20 minutes, and a whole lot of swearing to get set up. So I finally invested in this L.L.Bean one that came highly recommended, and am kicking myself for not getting it sooner!
Boon Silicone Teether: The perfect way to give your baby fresh fruit without all the sand. What beach day is complete without watermelon, anyway?!
Wet Bags: And lots of them! I use one to put a change of clothes in for when we leave, one for wet bathing suits, and one for sandy, wet diapers.
Beach Buggy: One of my friends has used one of these beach carts for years. I finally got one this year, and it is seriously a life (and arm) saver!
Flap Happy Sun Hat: I’ve used these hats for both of my girls and just love them! They have the widest brim I could find to protect from the sun, and are just adorable!
Hopefully you found something here that you can take advantage of for your next beach day with your littles, and if you have anything you can’t live without at the beach or on vacation, I’d love to know!
