If you are a car fanatic, The Seal Cove Auto Museum is one place you will want to be sure to visit. When you visit, you’ll be able to see over 50 different antique and historic motorcycles, automobiles, and bicycles from the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s. As a bonus, the museum shows off some of the vintage clothing and accessories from back in the day and shares exciting stories about that time in history.
The Maine Maritime Museum is one of the most visited museums in Maine and dedicated to teaching Maine’s maritime heritage and culture. The Maine Maritime Museum offers indoor and outdoor exhibits and hands-on activities for all ages. You can even take one of the daily cruises to see some of Maine’s most iconic lighthouses and get up close and personal to see the Navy vessels.

It’s one of the largest children’s museums in the north and allows children to explore the worlds of nature, literature, art, anatomy, music, science, and more. If you can visit in March, one activity you will want to attend is the Maine Science Festival where kids will get to learn and celebrate the national and world-leading science that has been brought by fellow Maine residents.

American, Contemporary, and European art is on display for all to enjoy. You can also learn about the history of art in Maine and experience art like you haven’t before with the immersive opportunities and programs available.
An amazing place to visit and a place the kids will adore, the Children’s Museum and Theatre of Maine has a lot to offer everyone who visits. As children make their way through the museum, they will get to explore some of the best science, visual arts, and culture activities and lessons through hands-on experiences and interactive exhibits.
Another hit for car or plane fanatics, and everything in between! We took the girls to the Owl Head Transportation Museum last winter, while on the Maine Escapes trip with Maine Tourism. There are also materials and displays that showcase how far we have come with our ability to make tools since the Paleolithic age.
